Tues 19th November - Corowa and Burrowye

I'd bought some fruit in Echuca so I had a lovely brekkie of fruit, muesli and Greek yogurt!! Packed up and visited Dougie on our way through Corowa, for my Uk friends Dougie was Bennys boss's dad who Benny got on with when they worked with each other a bit :) Joan was out playing bowls but we had a drink in their beautiful garden and got to meet Murphy the dog ;)

We stopped in at a canvas maker on the way out of Corowa as the zip on our tent cover had broken and the guy the day before had sold us the wrong sized zip....this guy told us that as the tent was an import they didn't have any zips that would work but he gave us the good idea of using a zip of another part of the tent we don't use much so a crisis was diverted.

After Corowa we drive around Lake Hulme, the views were lovely but we didn't stop for photos as I wasn't feeling ultra sparkly after not sleeping well the night before (hay fever again, bloody thing!!) We found a camp at Burrowye Reserve by a river. I didn't even wait until we'd put the tent up, I was straight in that river as soon as the car stopped, not so much cos it was hot but the coldness just helps to numb all the hay fever symptoms. Benny didn't join me in this river as we'd stopped Albury during the day for some fishing stuff and fuel...he's in the process of toughening up his feet again so he can walk bare footed after wearing shoes for so long and he forgot that he wasn't wearing shoes and stumped his big toe on the Tarmac and managed to take a chunk of skin off :( I think the water must've stung a bit.

Benny could tell I was feeling tired from not having good nights sleep and there was no bush loo at this camp so he was a gentleman dug a hole for my number 2 needs!!! We went for a walk down the river and met a couple with a big Rv set up, they were in their 50s and retired, living cheap, they were curious about what we did for work and how we could afford be on the road and not working...I tried the "we won the lottery" card as a joke but that got us thinking about a few different "personalities" we could try when we met people, like we designed something stupid, patented it and are living off the profits, or we were on a reality tv show in a different country and are trying to escape the media pressures, or we robbed a bank....

Benny went for a fish and I chilled out, coked dinner and did some knitting :)
