Sun 22nd – Sand Dunes

The next morning we headed up onto the Sand Dunes to check out the view, Benny got to test out his new radio ;)  Driving them was also no problem so we decided we didn’t like the advice the chick gave us in the shop! The boys tried out some backflips off a super steep dune and then we cut the ‘roof’ down from above our bed in the ute, flutecore (?) stuff ‘for sale’ signs are made out of…and tried to use that as a bored, unsuccessfully!!  After lunch we both hit the road in the opposite direction again, we were headed to Point Sinclair, Cactus Beach.  We checked out a bay around the corner from Cactus but after talking to the locals and asking about camping we headed back to the designated campsite.. they were pretty hostile about their spot!! Benny had heard stories about the locals around Cactus and we didn’t really want to piss them off.  Cactus was a lovely spot though, the caretaker/manager, Ron had owned it since 1986, but had recently installed flushing loos in a kind of sheep pen buildings.  There was also an open shower with bore water, kinda strange having a shower and being able to see everyone in the campsite!  There was a chilled out, cruisey vibe though so we loved this spot.  Watched the sunset and then had dinner… checked the time and it was 10pm, still not used to the time difference!!

This one is for you Kel!!

Our attempt at sandboarding.... wasnt too successful!!!
