Tues 31st – Thurs 2nd – Port Lincoln and their National Park

The National Park pass we’d got for Coffin Bay also counted for Port Lincolns National Park so instead of having a week at Coffin we moved across to Lincoln… we stopped off at the Oyster sheds on the way though, the local couple had told us you can get them cheap from here rather than at a store, we scored 24 for $14!! The local told us it was only $8 but when the guy asked us where we were from we didn’t think quick enough and said WA… so we didn’t get local prices, still pretty cheap though J  Headed into the National Park and tried to find some cockles in the sand with the tide out… Benny wouldn’t believe me that the cockle pickers back home had boards on the sand that they jump up on down on to get the cockles to come to the surface, see I do remember stuff from the Morcombe Bay walk Mum ;)  So I was jumping up and down and he was digging, we found a few..  Explored the island and found a spot to put up the tent for a couple of nights.  Cold, windy evenings so watched a movie on the laptop in the tent J  The next day Benny asked if I’d like to go on a walk, I said that would be lovely (fishing overload for me at the moment, made worse by the fact he’s not catching anything so I’m not even enjoying the benefits of fishing for dinner!!) Anyway, yes a walk…there were a couple of 7km loops and things around the park but noooo Benny was walking with a fishing rod and as soon as he found a good spot on the rocks that was where the walk ended!!!

Looking for cockles

Found some bait
