Mon 16th - Isralite Bay

After saying bye to Wayne and his family, we headed along the 4x4 track to Isralite Bay.  We’d heard that there were always people there and were looking forward to hopefully meeting some more potential travelers to team up in a convoy when we headed across the Nullabor, but the whole place was deserted, it was really strange, it was obvious there had been people there recently but we didn’t see another person or car all day!!  We drove heaps that day, exploring the tracks and trying to find a good beach but there was heaps of seaweed everywhere, Benny found a campsite that was also deserted but had lots of shipwrecked stuff from the beach, including a home-made hammock from old rope and zip ties.  We camped the night there, enjoying a fire and an attempt at making a chocolate cake in the camp oven on the fire…. It was my first time at cooking like that in a camp oven and I thought the cake was pretty good but Benny is a camp oven pro and said it tasted awful and burnt!..we’ll just have to keep having goes until we get it right ;)

The track to Isralite Bay...
