Wed 4th – Goodbyes and Thunderstorms

Trish and Malcom had to head back to Perth in the morning so Trish decided to break out some more bubbles from the night before with OJ and the girls enjoyed a champagne breakfast J

We were balancing but Kyle chopped our feet off!!

Champagne Brekkie for the Girls

And the convoy was down to 2… onwards to the Duke of Orleans, we knew it was Kelly and Kyles last couple of nights and there weren’t a lot of camping options so we splashed out and paid for a campsite….. don’t think we picked our bogan neighbors very well with their shouting, yelling and complete lack of parenting skills.  Once the tents were up we went for a drive to explore the local beaches, really gorgeous scenery with rocks on the beach and squeaky white sand.  On the beach we could see the storms coming, dark skies, thunder and lightning, the rain hit as we got back to camp…. Sorry that doesn’t explain it very well… the rain DOWNPOURED on us as we got back to camp!!!  We pulled the awing out and covered it in tarps on all sides to try and give ourselves somewhere to cook and shelter…. Forgetting we needed an entrance to come in and out, we got good at limbo’ing ;)  While we were stringing the tarps up we noticed a small river gathering and starting to flow right into Kelly and Kyles tent so Kyle grabbed a shovel and diverted it…  Once we were all in the tarp tent it was pretty cosy, and I cooked up some camping version of mulled wine to make it cosier still J  It was missing a few ingredients but it still hit the spot!!  I was thinking of you Debbie C as I was brewing it ;) xx

Messing around on the beaches

Mini exploring... wait until the next days rock hopping!
